CIAA Champion Virginia Union earned the first Division II playoff win in program history with a 34-31 overtime win at No. 2 seed Wingate. The Panthers' offense was successful throughout the day against one of division II's top defenses. VUU outgained Wingate in total offense, 404 to 389 with 153 rushing yards and 251 passing yards. Panthers' QB Mark Wright passed for 202 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Regi Vick, Jr. caught four balls for 92 yards and a score. Jada Byers added 57 receiving yards while also rushing for 92. RJ Rosales rushed for 50 yards and also passed for 50 and a touchdown. Virginia Union will now face Lenoir-Rhyne who also won a road game as an unseeded team. Confirmation of the location of the game is expected Saturday night. Full story to follow.
