A Thursday night Halloween contest in the Great American Conference delivered one of the most shocking upsets in recent memory. Southern Nazarene, who was winless entering the day with a record of 0-8, upset No. 5 ranked and undefeated Ouachita Baptist by a final score of 18-17. The Ouachita offense sputtered all night, producing just 14 first downs and 260 total yards against a defense that entered the game ranking 12th out of 12 teams in the GAC in total defense and 11th in scoring defense. SNU found ways to make big plays in critical moments and were led by quarterback Bryson Evans who passed for 176 yards and rushed 70 yards. Place kicker Brandon Van Prooyen was a weapon for the Crimson Storm, converting on all four field goal attempts.
