PSAC Week Eleven Preview

Week Eleven is coming up and the PSAC Championship Game and the last week of the regular season are both here. The season finales will feature all the teams from the PSAC East visiting teams from the PSAC West in Crossover Game action. #3 Kutztown (10-0, 7-0 PSAC East) will be traveling to #17 California (PA) (8-1, 6-0 PSAC West) to decide who will be the 2024 PSAC Champion. #3 Kutztown, #13 Slippery Rock (9-1, 6-1 PSAC West), and #17 California (PA), all stayed the same in this week’s D2 Top 25 Poll. In addition to those three teams, #22 East Stroudsburg (9-1, 6-1 PSAC East) enters the D2 Top 25 for the first time this season. Those teams are also the four PSAC Teams who made the 1-10 NCAA Super Region One Rankings which were released on Monday. Those teams are all in the mix for the seven bracket spots in Super Region One. The playoff brackets for all four Super Regions will be announced on Sunday night. Keep reading below for this week’s Super Region One Rankings, my updated PSAC Power Ranking, this week’s matchups, and my prediction of who will win each game in Week Eleven.

NCAA Super Region One Rankings (Monday November 11, 2024):

  1. #9 Charleston (WV) (MEC) 10-0
  2. #3 Kutztown (PSAC East) 10-0
  3. #17 California (PA) (PSAC West) 8-1
  4. #13 Slippery Rock (PSAC West) 8-1
  5. Findlay (GMAC) 9-1
  6. #22 East Stroudsburg (PSAC East) 9-1
  7. New Haven (NE10) 7-2
  8. Ashland (GMAC) 7-3
  9. Assumption (NE10) 6-3
  10. Bentley (NE10) 7-2

#9 Charleston is currently ranked ahead of #3 Kutztown based upon current Strength of Schedule. If #3 Kutztown beats # 17 California (PA) in the PSAC Championship Game, they should move up to the number one ranking in Super Region One. If #17 California (PA) beats #3 Kutztown in the PSAC Championship Game, they should move up to the number two ranking. #9 Charleston (WV) would maintain the number one spot in this scenario, if they remain undefeated, since they are the only team that beat #17 California (PA) this season, 23-19, way back in Week Zero.

The top four teams in the PSAC, those in this week’s NCAA Super Region One Ranking, have a combined record of 35-3 (.921 winning percentage). The three losses of those top four teams are all to teams in this week’s D2 Top 25 Poll and all those teams are on this week’s NCAA Super Region One Rankings list. #13 Slippery Rock lost to #17 California (PA) 28-7, #17 California (PA) lost to still undefeated #9 Charleston (WV) 23-19, and #22 East Stroudsburg lost to still undefeated #3 Kutztown 27-21.

PSAC Week Eleven – Crossover Games - Saturday, November 16, 2024

PSAC EAST at PSAC WEST

#22 East Stroudsburg (9-1, 6-1 PSAC East) at Clarion (3-7, 1-5 PSAC West) – 12 Noon

My Prediction: East Stroudsburg - The Warriors win to go to 10-1 on the season and secure a spot on the Super Region One playoff bracket.

 

Lock Haven (4-6, 3-4 PSAC East) at Gannon (3-6, 3-3 PSAC West) – 12 Noon

My Prediction: Lock Haven – The Bald Eagles win on the road.

 

Millersville (0-10, 0-7 PSAC East) at Edinboro (3-7, 2-4 PSAC West) – 12 Noon

My Prediction: Edinboro – The Fighting Scots finish the season with a win at home.

 

Shepherd (5-5, 3-4 PSAC East) at Seton Hill (3-7, 1-5 PSAC West) – 12 Noon

My Prediction: Shepherd – The Rams finish with a winning record at 6-5.

 

*PSAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME*

#3 Kutztown (10-0, 7-0 PSAC East) at #17 California (PA) (8-1, 6-0 PSAC West) – 12 Noon

My Prediction: #3 Kutztown – The Golden Bears go 1-0 again this week, win the PSAC Championship, and should land the number one spot on the Super Region One Playoff Bracket.

 

Bloomsburg (6-4, 4-3 PSAC East) at #13 Slippery Rock (8-1, 5-1 PSAC West) – 1 PM

My Prediction: #13 Slippery Rock – The Rock takes care of business at home and secures a spot on the Super Region One playoff bracket.

 

Shippensburg (2-8, 1-6 PSAC East) at IUP (6-3, 3-3 PSAC West) – 2 PM

My Prediction: IUP – The Crimson Hawks win at home to finish at 7-3.

 

West Chester (4-6, 4-3 PSAC East) is idle this week.

West Chester finishes the season fourth in the PSAC East at 4-3 under first year Head Coach Duke Greco.
