No. 18 Carson-Newman Rallies for Last Second Win

Carson-Newman kept its unbeaten record intact with a late rally at Mars Hill. Trailing 27-14 late in the fourth quarter, the Eagles closed the gap to six points with an 8-play, 74 yard scoring drive. With just 1:36 remaining on the game clock, the Ealges attempted an onside kick, which was successful. The Eagles' offense faced a fourth and goal from the one yard line in the final seconds. As clock wound down to two seconds, Carson-Newman called a timeout to set up the final play of regulation. Jayden Sullins plowed over the goal line on 4th and goal. The PAT, which was kicked after the clock had expired, gave Carson-Newman their first and only lead of the day. The Ealges stay perfect at 6-0 and will be back at home next week, hosting UVA-Wise.
