A second quarter turnover set up a short field for Miles in the Golden Bears' first round playoff game against Carson-Newman. The Golden Bears would cash in on that opportunity to take a 14-7 lead into halftime. The defense would make it hold up as they yielded just two field goals in the second half. The defense also bailed out the offense following a turnover in the final minute as the Bears were attempting to run out the clock. Carson-Newman would manage to post 305 yards of offense to just 153 for Miles, but costly mistakes took the Eagles out of scoring position several times. The victory marks Miles' first playoff win in program history. They will now go their second ever playoff win next Saturday at Valdosta State. Full story to follow.
