EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Emporia State football team you saw to end 2024, is not the same Emporia State football team you’ll see in the fall of 2025.
Head coach Garin Higgins brings in his largest recruiting class ever. He said spring ball has involved lots of learning because there are so many new players in the program. From now until ESU’s first game in August, the Hornets will be searching for the bulk of its offensive production. It starts with a three-man quarterback room.
Transfer senior Ben Harris saw the field first on Friday. Harris is a senior from Oklahoma. He redshirted his freshman year at the University of Oklahoma before playing three years at North Alabama. Coach Higgins and company recruited Harris out of high school and tried to get him in the portal the first go-around, but with no luck. He now joins the Hornets and hopes to provide an immediate impact.
