Congratulations to Pittsburg State and Northwest Missouri on making the Division II Playoffs. I know Emporia State is disappointed in how their regular season ended but the Hornets got an invite to the Live United Bowl in Texarkana, Arkansas on December 3rd.

At least 20 players or coaches in this year's Super Bowl have a history with a Division II institution. Included among these are Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, all-pro receiver Tyreek Hill, and the highest paid center in the league, Ryan Jensen.

D2Football.com has announced the 50 players and the coach that have been selected to the 2010-2019 All-Decade Team. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have played during any season from 2010-2019 but must have completed his eligibility prior to the 2020 season.

Four conference games and a nonconference tilt for Grand Valley State makes up week nine in the GLIAC. As the standings start to sort out for the final stretch of the regular season, each game becomes imperative in terms of league title implications.

Week 7 on the gridiron in the GLIAC brought us two of the more dramatic finishes we have seen all year as Ashland and Wayne State battled it out in a double overtime thriller, and Saginaw Valley State saw a victory evaporate in the final seconds compliments of a late Lindenwood touchdown. Aside from those two memorable finishes, the rest of the day was relatively snooze worthy –

The pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place as we sprint into week 7 of the Division II college football season, and this week’s matchups will continue to shape the GLIAC landscape. Four afternoon games followed up by an intriguing nightcap in Detroit featuring two teams with just one GLIAC loss in Ashland and Wayne State.

The second weekend of GLIAC play is a welcomed sight as Saturday’s slate features four conference battles and just one nonconference tilt, meaning there are only five games to preview instead of eight or nine like we had during nonconference play. Wayne State finally gets a crack at a GLIAC opponent as the Warriors will welcome the unbeaten, and now 25th-ranked-Saginaw Valley State Cardinals to Tom Adams Field for a night cap and WSU’s first conference game of the season.
